>> Nicole, Midwife: Welcome to Cairns Hospital Maternity Services. I'm Nicole, one of the midwives.

This is where you come to see a midwife or a doctor for your antenatal checks and specialist appointments.

[The pregnant woman leaves reception and walks to the waiting room]

>> Miah, Midwife: Hi, my name is Miah. I’m one of the midwives in MGP.

[Miah stands in one of the Midwifery Group Care birth suites]

One of your options for care is Midwifery Group Practice, where women have a known midwife for their pregnancy, labour and birth, and postnatal care.

[Camera shows the birthing room including the large birthing pool with a Great Barrier Reef photo covering the entire back wall]

[Miah fills up the birthing pool. The camera zooms into the ensuite shower and toilet area]

>> Nicole, Midwife: If you're in labour or booked in to give birth, you'll go through these red doors to birth suite.

[Nicole stands in front of red double-doors and turns to walk through them]

[Camera enters a birth suite and pans over the room]

When you're in labour, the midwives and medical staff will care for you.

[Nicole stands next to a birthing pool]

We have nine fully equipped birthing suites and three of our rooms have birthing pools.
