Cairns

It's easy to see why people come here on holidays and end up staying for life.

It’s a laidback multicultural city serviced by an international airport and plenty of tropical outdoor dining and entertainment, a beautiful swimming lagoon, a bustling farmers market and plenty of nearby beaches.

It has excellent entertainment, recreation, arts and sporting facilities.

There are daily flights to capital cities and other Queensland centres. Regular international flights connect Cairns to Japan, Singapore and Papua New Guinea.

You can find practical advice about living in Cairns on the Cairns Regional Council or Choose Cairns websites.

Mossman Hospital is a 20-minute drive from the popular tourist town of Port Douglas, where the Great Barrier Reef meets the Daintree Forest. Cairns is just over an hours drive away from Mossman, along the scenic ocean coastline.

Mossman is a picturesque little township with a population of approximately 2000 people nestled at the foot of the mountains among bright green fields of sugar cane. Home to over 12,000 residents the town’s highlights are the lush rainforest of Mossman Gorge and experience the wonders of the Daintree Rainforest all the while getting lost in its enchanting stories and rich indigenous heritage.

The region is popular for birdwatching, Indigenous cultural experiences, markets, fishing, hiking and biking.
